In April 2022, we were honoured to receive the news that we had been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2022 for our TREZZO™ family of pressure area care support surfaces. Fast forward to February 2023, and we were joined at our Head Quarters by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Tim Hare, to be formally presented with the award and scroll, signed by her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, received by our Chairman Thomas Owens.

‘Receiving the Queens Award has enhanced our credibility and reinforced our passion to develop environmentally friendly solutions and services that improve patient outcomes. Every individual at Essential Healthcare Solutions is proud to say “We are Queens Award winners” and is empowered and energised to continue to be bold and break boundaries in product development’.

Our award winning portfolio of TREZZO™ pressure area care support surfaces, has been developed to respond to the rigorous challenges presented by todays healthcare environments. Manufactured using innovative patented technology, TREZZO™ improves patient safety and comfort and offers a more durable and sustainable solution in comparison to other support surfaces1.

In a world with finite raw material resources and increasing budget pressures, it’s more important than ever to reduce failure rates and mitigate waste being sent to landfill. Lasting up to 2.5 years longer than other static foam surfaces, TREZZO™ can reduce costs associated with mattress replacement and disposal2, supporting more and more NHS Trusts across the UK to achieve their sustainability goals.

Pioneering graphene enriched foam with an open cell structure is at the heart of TREZZO™, providing instant patient immersion and envelopment and improving airflow within the surface. Increasing the surface area patients lie on and managing heat build up underneath the patient (in combination with a package of care), results in reduced risk of pressure damage in at-risk individuals.

Keen to continue to protect patients and caregivers and improve safety, our talented team are now focused on revolutionising care delivery, extending from our renowned pressure area care products to a realm of connected care innovation; driven by the recognition that comes with winning a Queens Award and ultimately supporting healthcare organisations in delivering safe and sustainable care.
